Judge refuses to dismiss Britney Spears’ driving license charge |
Britney Spears will face a trial over a misdemeanour driving license offence after a Los Angeles judge refused to dismiss the case. Britney was found without a valid license to drive in California, her license is from Louisiana, she said when asked by California police in an accident she was involvend in August 2007, after hitting a car in a parking space.Britney got a valid California license six days after being notified of the infraction. The popstar’s attorney, Michael Flanagan, had urged Los Angeles Superior Judge James A.Steele to throw out the case in a hearing on Tuesday (Sept. 2nd). Flanagan alleged that his client was being single out because of her super celebrity status, but the judge refused to give an immediate decision until he had reviewed the details of the incident.Judge Steele declared the prosecution was right to charge Spears with the offence, and the case will continue. Spears has been living in L.A. for years, and California laws says that a person has 10 days after moving to California to get a valid driving license for the state. The ruling made yesterday (Sept. 3rd 2008) means Britney could go on a trial in October.Britney’s attorney has yet to comment on the decision, but after Tuesday’s court date he vowed to appeal if Steele denied his request for dismissal. According to MTV , Britney will be sitting in the first row next to High School Musical actor Zac Efron, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, Reality star Lauren Conrad, Singer Ashlee Simpson and R’n'B’ musician Chris Brown.Cool isn’t it? MTV Confirms : Britney Spears opening the VMA’s |
Britney Spears is ready to Give More to MTV. Despite the disastrous Gimme More performance last year, The popstar will kick off the show once again. But…She’s not performing, According to the president of The MTV Networks Music Group, Van Toffler, Britney will be doing something “fun and unexpected” on Sunday’s VMA Ceremony. And…the best, Britney Spears, herself, confirmed her appearance in a statement : “MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs? I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated,” The MTV Networks president also said: “I think for Britney, people are rooting for her, and she’s really on the road to recovery[...]It feels like it’s her year[...]It’s our 25th anniversary of the VMAs, and she’s been such a critical piece of MTV’s history.” Spears has also been responsible for the ratings of the VMAs, Last year the ratings were 23% higher than in 2006 (year she didn’t appear) and her performance in 2003 made VMA’s highest rating ever.Britney performance in 2001 also gave VMAs some boost. Britney Spears : “My Father Saved My Life” |
Former troubled popstar Britney Spears has credited her father Jamie Spears with saving her life. The ‘Toxic’ singer was hospitalized twice in the beggining of this year under mental disorder observation, and her father subsequently took over her legal and business affairs - becoming conservator of her estate.Spears was also stripped of visitation rights to her two sons, but following several months under the guidance of her dad she has won back the right to see her children and is now working on a career comeback. The popstar insists she will always be grateful to Jamie for helping her sort her life out. She tells Daily Star Newspaper: “My father saved my life. I probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. The first single for upcoming Britney Spears new studio album is confirmed to be titled ‘Underground’. The title of track was officially confirmed after Britney got together with manager Larry Rudolph and JIVE this Labor Day weekend in Vegas. MTV Germany has included Britney Spears on it’s ads for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, the tagline says ‘Performers and a New Britney Spears’. The loudspeaker announce during the commercial: ‘Tune in MTV Germany Sept. 7 and watch one of the biggest music shows ever, with great performers and a new Britney Spears’. MTV offers $3,5 million for Britney Spears to co-host The 2008 VMAs |
MTV really needs some Britney to get the VMA’s ratings to boost up! According to sources, MTV will be paying up to $3,5 million dollars for popstar Britney Spears to co-host the first part of the VMAs along with Russell Brand. A source also reveals that MTV worked out a deal with Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, to make people believe Britney wouldn’t be at the VMAs. Fox News earlier today confirmed Britney will be doing more than handing out an award at the ceremony, So, Will she really co-host the show? Are you getting tired of all those rumors and no very official confirmation? Well, The official confirmation we’ll only have next Sunday live at 9P.M. (ET/PT).Let’s pray Britney will really be there! Britney Spears who flew to Vegas last Saturday after spending two days with kids, enjoyed Labor weekend at The Mirage Hotel & Casino where she attended the ‘Beatles Love’ Cirque Du Soleil’s show, Also, Britney was looking better than she has been since 2006. While Brit was hitting Las Vegas Mirage Hotel, a familiar face appeared to the paparazzis, Britney’s ex-boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.Sources told People Magazine that Brit and Ghalib didn’t see it other in face, but they’ve been a few yards from each other several times. Did Brit secret gone to Vegas to meet with the gold digger ? We don’t know….But Adnan is reportedly to have left his paparazzi agency, Finalpixx, so he wasn’t there for work anyway. Despite denials from Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears will attend the VMAs as a presented at this weekend ceremony. Everyone from produciton crew to wardrobe are preparing for the pop princess to make a comeback, although MTV hasn’t confirmed it.
